Why We Do It

I have a system rack in my house. My home office actually has a metal rack full of computer systems and server equipment that runs 24 hours a day, delivering email, serving web pages, and sharing files. It’s loud, complicated, and keeps the room toasty-warm. One day, while struggling to hear some music over the whine of a four-disk, 10,000 RPM RAID array, I asked myself “why do I have this stuff taking up so much room and using so much power, when I’m just one guy who doesn’t really need it?” The answer: so I would know how to build such things for those who did really need them. Big organizations, with big computer systems, whose server rooms I started working in years ago.

The problem is that I don’t like big corporations and big server rooms; I’d much rather be working with smaller companies, who don’t suffer from the bureaucracy and overhead. I like to work in the back office and meet the business owner in person a lot better than working for a CEO 12 levels up the org chart.

So, that’s what we do. Green Country Technical Services takes enterprise-level expertise out of the server room and brings it to your small or medium sized business. We give you large corporate capabilities, without a large corporate pricetag. And we like working for you.
